Notes:

- Disappointment followed Charles Carpenter across the border as he failed to qualify for his second consecutive event.

- One bright spot was Carpenter’s second round qualifying speed of 222.84-mph. This was a career-best speed, and further solidified his longstanding claim of owning "The World’s Fastest ’55 Chevrolet." His prior best was a 222.47-mph set at Rockingham (N.C.) Dragway last October.

Charles Carpenter Quote: "We’ve got the power in the engine, but just not the acceleration in the front half of the track. That is the key to work on now as there are not really any other big gains to be made right now. We made good passes, and got quicker every time and that alone makes for a good day and is something positive. Still, it’s no fun to be sitting on the trailer during eliminations."
