- Last weekend at a match race in Eddysville, Iowa, Carpenter won the event and set a new track record. Unfortunately, this weekend wasn’t as kind as he missed qualifying for the elimination rounds.

"It’s the clutch. It’s always the clutch this year. We are so close, but we
had the clutch set a couple of grams off and that made a big difference. The
front-end got too high and the car wanted to go left. I think I could have
driven through it but the clutch setup caused the tires to shake in second
gear."
