will face the second qualifier, Mike Castellana, in the first round.

his teammate Pat Doherty have both qualified
for the elimination rounds at the same IHRA event. Doherty qualified 16th

Charles Carpenter Quote:
"After trying all year we finally qualified both cars. I would have liked to
be a little faster in the ET, but we went down the track every time with
respectable runs. I was able to make four clean runs and that’s the first time
in a long while where I haven’t had any tire shake. I think that we are finally
working through the clutch adjustments and getting it to where I need it to be.
The test session we had last week at Darlington (S.C.) has really paid off."
Ken Hively (Crew Chief) Quote:
"Everybody misread the conditions and the track. They all expected it to be
better than it was. We made all four passes complete and smooth. That is a big
psychological advantage."
